Step 1: Open Discord

Launch the “Discord” app on your system using the “Startup” menu:

Next, choose the server where you need to assign a mod role to the member and click on the below-highlighted icon. For instance, we have selected the “Tarusian_0422” server:


Step 3: Create Mod Role

Press the “Roles” category underneath the “Server Settings” and then click on the “Create Role” button:


Specify the role name in the “ROLE NAME” fields and click on “Permissions” to set authorizations for the created role. In our case, we have typed “Moderator” as the role name:


Step 4: Set Permissions

Scroll down the “Permission” tab, enable them according to your preferences, and click on the “Save Changes” button:


Step 5: Assign Mod Role

Click on the “Member” option inside the “USER MANAGEMENT” category:


Select the username and click on the plus “+” icon placed beside the username:


Select the “Moderator” role from the appeared drop-down menu:


The below image indicates that the selected member will now operate as a “Moderator” on the Discord server:
