Plasma 6.6.2 Released with Numerous Fixes & Improvements

KDE announced the second maintenance update for Plasma 6.6 major version, that was released 2 weeks ago.

This version features translation updates, various stability fixes, and some improvements to the built-in components.

First, it changed the way it sorts the session in Plasma Login Manager. When no previous session exists to remember, it will sort Plasma sessions first, then sort alphabetically, and then sort Wayland first.

As well, it fixed thread safety issues in VideoStream, potential freeze, and rendering artifacts or black screen when connecting from Windows clients.

For users of Oxygen theme, this version fixed the indication in the panel when an app is minimized and sizing issue for apllication launcher scrollbars.

The version also includes various crash fixes. Plasma 6.6 introduces support for custom Wayland modeline via kscreen-doctor, allowing to set custom resolutions and/or refresh rates. However, when create a custom modeline if you are already in one will crash and restart the desktop.

Spectacle crashed when attempting to share a rectangular selection screenshot via KDE Connect. And, shortcuts settings page crashed when typing a character and a plus sign in the search bar. Now, all these crashes have been fixed.
